ACTION PAINTING

a type of painting, frequently utilized in art therapy, in which persons generate impromptu theoretical works making use of alternative skills, for instance, spraying, dripping, trickling, or sloshing the paint aimlessly onto the canvas. When used in therapy, these formations are evaluated and grouped into treatment programs. Commonly referred to as tachisme.

ACTION PAINTING: “Of all the works displayed at Thursday’s art convention, it seemed those with strong influences of action painting drew the most attention.”
