noun. A continual and unreasonable terror of or aversion to skin parasites, worms, and more- an aversion to itching or crawling sensations delivered via small items, insects, etc. The is a common feeling experienced by alcohol-dependent persons and addicts of narcotic and high-addition rate drugs such as cocaine. Illnesses such as rheumatic fever and meningitis may also cause one to experience the crawling/itching sensations.
