Scale Overview
The Skill and Luck Questionnaire – SLQ was developed by Herman, Gupta, & Derevensky (1997). It is designed to measure Perception of skill vs. luck. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents and adults.

This instrument consists of 14 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Skill, Luck.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.

Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 7 to 49. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low perceived influence: 7 – 21
- Moderate perceived influence: 22 – 35
- High perceived influence: 36 – 49
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
