Scale Overview
The Young Children’s Social Desirability Scale (YCSD) was developed by L. H. Ford, B. M. Rubin (1970). It is designed to measure Social Desirability. The scale is intended for use with Young children.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 28 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = Non-socially desirable option, 1 = Socially desirable option.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 28. Interpretation guidelines:
- Total Score (Higher scores indicate a higher tendency toward socially desirable responding): 0 – 28

Administration
