Scale Overview
The WHOQOL Spirituality, Religiousness and Personal Beliefs – WHOQOL-SRPB was developed by WHOQOL Group (2006). It is designed to measure Spirituality, Religiousness, and Personal Beliefs (SRPB) in relation to Quality of Life. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

This instrument consists of 32 items organized into 8 factors/subscales: Spiritual Connection, Meaning & Purpose In Life, Experiences of Awe & Wonder, Wholeness & Integration, Spiritual Strength, Inner Peace, Hope & Optimism, Faith.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at all / Slightly / Very dissatisfied, 2 = A little / Dissatisfied, 3 = Moderate amount / Moderately / Neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, 4 = Very much / Very / Satisfied, 5 = An extreme amount / Extremely / Completely / Very satisfied.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 4 to 20. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low quality of life in this facet: 4 – 9
- Moderate quality of life in this facet: 10 – 14
- High quality of life in this facet: 15 – 20
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha ranges from 0.77 to 0.95 across facets.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
