Scale Overview
The Webb Efficacy Scale was developed by Patricia T. Ashton, Stanley Olejnik, Linda Crocker, & Mary McAuliffe (1982). It is designed to measure Teacher Efficacy. The scale is intended for use with Teachers.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 7 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = I agree most strongly with Statement A, 2 = I agree most strongly with Statement B.
The scale includes 3 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 7. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Teacher Efficacy: 0 – 3
- High Teacher Efficacy: 4 – 7
