Scale Overview
The Unwanted Pursuit Behavior Inventory – UPBI was developed by Jennifer Langhinrichsen-Rohling, Regina E. Palarea, J. Cohen, & Mark L. Rohling (2000). It is designed to measure Unwanted pursuit behaviors and stalking victimization. The scale is intended for use with Adults experiencing relationship dissolution.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 26 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Mild Acts, Severe Acts.

Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 0 to 26. Interpretation guidelines:
- No Unwanted Pursuit Behavior: 0 – 0
- Mild Unwanted Pursuit Behavior: 1 – 13
- Severe Unwanted Pursuit Behavior: 14 – 26
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
