Scale Overview
The Trust Scale was developed by John K. Rempel, John G. Holmes, & Mark P. Zanna (1985). It is designed to measure Trust in close relationships. The scale is intended for use with Adults in close relationships.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 17 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Predictability, Dependability, Faith.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: -3 = Strongly Disagree, -2 = Disagree, -1 = Slightly Disagree, 0 = Neutral, 1 = Slightly Agree, 2 = Agree, 3 = Strongly Agree.
The scale includes 4 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
