Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 12 to 60. Interpretation guidelines:
- Religious Attitudes: Conservative (Low openness): 12 – 35
- Religious Attitudes: Liberal (High openness): 36 – 60
- Sociopolitical Attitudes: Conservative (Low openness): 8 – 23
- Sociopolitical Attitudes: Liberal (High openness): 24 – 40
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Alpha of .94 (Religious subscale), .93 (Sociopolitical subscale).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
