Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 49 items organized into 10 factors/subscales: Work-related stressors, Professional distress, Professional investment, Discipline and motivation, Emotional manifestations, Behavioral manifestations, Cardiovascular manifestations, Gastronomical manifestations, Fatigue manifestations, Time management.
| Factor / Subscale | Items | N |
|---|---|---|
| Work-related stressors | 1,2,3,4,5,6 | 6 |
| Professional distress | 7,8,9,10,12 | 5 |
| Professional investment | 11,13,14,15 | 4 |

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = No Strength; not noticeable; not applicable, 2 = Mild Strength; barely noticeable, 3 = Medium Strength; moderately noticeable, 4 = Great Strength; very noticeable, 5 = Major Strength; extremely noticeable.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 49 to 245. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Stress: 49 – 98
- Moderate Stress: 99 – 147
- High Stress: 148 – 196
- Severe Stress: 197 – 245
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.93 (overall).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
