Scale Overview
The Supervising Teacher Behavior Description Questionnaire – Form 2 (STBDQ-2) was developed by W. E. Sistrunk (1983). It is designed to measure Supervisory behavior preferences. The scale is intended for use with Student teachers and supervising teachers.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 54 items organized into 6 factors/subscales: Directive, Collaborative, Nondirective, Planning and Organizing, Instructional Management, Instructional Evaluation.

Response anchors: 1 = Very Dissatisfying / Very Nonmotivating, 2 = Dissatisfying / Nonmotivating, 3 = Neutral, 4 = Satisfying / Motivating, 5 = Very Satisfying / Very Motivating.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Total score alpha = 0.97, Directive = 0.95, Collaborative = 0.95, Nondirective = 0.96.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
