Scale Overview
The Subjective Aspects of the Teaching Profession Scale was developed by Tennstädt & Dann (1986). It is designed to measure Job satisfaction, perceived aptitude, and experienced stress in teachers. The scale is intended for use with Teachers.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 32 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Job Satisfaction, Perceived Aptitude, Experienced Stress.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Does not apply to me at all, 2 = Does not really apply to me, 3 = Applies to me with certain restrictions, 4 = Applies to me completely.
The scale includes 15 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Job Satisfaction: .91, Perceived Aptitude: .85, Experienced Stress: .88.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
