The Stress Inventory – Symptom Checklist (SI-SC) was developed by J. Eugene Knott & George Kriebe (2003). It is designed to measure Stress and Anxiety Symptoms. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 8 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Somatic Symptoms, Behavioral Symptoms, Anxiety Symptoms, Emotional Symptoms, Interpersonal Symptoms.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous Yes/No format.
The scale includes 1 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 8. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Stress Symptoms: 0 – 2
- Moderate Stress Symptoms: 3 – 5
- High Stress Symptoms: 6 – 8
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
