Scale Overview
The Status Maintenance Motive Scale (Statuserhaltsmotiv-Skala) was developed by Richard Fauser (1985). It is designed to measure Status Maintenance Motive. The scale is intended for use with Parents.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = 1 (Not at all / Impossible), 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = 7 (Very much / Absolutely certain).
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 1 to 7. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low: 1 – 3
- Moderate: 4 – 5
- High: 6 – 7

Administration
