Scale Overview
The Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance Scale – SATAQ-3R was developed by J. Kevin Thompson, Patricia A. Van den Berg, Heather Keery, Rick Williams, Hemal M. Shroff, G. I. Haselhuhn, Michael Boroughs (2000). It is designed to measure Sociocultural attitudes towards appearance. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents and adults.

- Low Sociocultural Influence: 38 – 88
- Moderate Sociocultural Influence: 89 – 139
- High Sociocultural Influence: 140 – 190
