Scale Overview
The Social Phobia Weekly Summary Scale (SPWSS) was developed by David M. Clark (2006). It is designed to measure Social Anxiety Severity and Cognitive Processes. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

This instrument consists of 6 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Severity, Avoidance, Attention Focus, Anticipatory Worry, Post-Event Rumination.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = 0 (Low / Not at all / Externally focused), 1 = 1, 2 = 2 (Slightly / Rarely), 3 = 3, 4 = 4 (Definitely / Sometimes / Both equally), 5 = 5, 6 = 6 (Markedly / Often), 7 = 7, 8 = 8 (Severely / Always / Self-focused).
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 48. Interpretation guidelines:
- Mild: 0 – 16
- Moderate: 17 – 32
- Severe: 33 – 48

Administration
