Scale Overview
The Social Networks Questionnaire – SNQ was developed by Kim Bartholomew (1991). It is designed to measure Social network structure and attachment relationships. The scale is intended for use with Adults and adolescents.

This instrument consists of 8 items organized into 6 factors/subscales: Safe Haven, Secure Base, Proximity Seeking, Separation Distress, Negative Affect, Emotional Connection.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = First choice / Highest rank, 2 = Second choice, 3 = Third choice.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of N/A (idiographic network measure).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
