Scale Overview
The Self-Reported Delinquency—Problem Behavior Frequency Scale (SRD-PBFS) was developed by Jessor, R., & Jessor, S.L. (1977). It is designed to measure Delinquency and Antisocial Behavior. The scale is intended for use with Youths and adolescents.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 8 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never, 2 = 1-2 times, 3 = 3-5 times, 4 = 6-9 times, 5 = 10-19 times, 6 = 20 or more times.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 8 to 48. Interpretation guidelines:
- No reported delinquency: 8 – 8
- Low level of delinquency: 9 – 16
- Moderate level of delinquency: 17 – 32
- High level of delinquency: 33 – 48
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
