Scale Overview
The Self-Presentation in Injury Rehabilitation Questionnaire – SPIRQ was developed by Molly Driediger & Craig R. Hall (2012). It is designed to measure Self-presentation in injury rehabilitation. The scale is intended for use with Injured individuals undergoing physical rehabilitation.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 32 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at all true, 2 = Slightly true, 3 = Moderately true, 4 = Very true, 5 = Completely true.
The scale includes 17 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Positive Self-Presentation: 1 – 2
- Moderate Positive Self-Presentation: 2 – 3
- High Positive Self-Presentation: 3 – 5
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
