Scale Overview
The Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator – RHETI Version 2.5 was developed by Don Richard Riso, Russ Hudson (1999). It is designed to measure Enneagram Personality Types. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 105 items organized into 9 factors/subscales: Type 1: The Reformer, Type 2: The Helper, Type 3: The Achiever, Type 4: The Individualist, Type 5: The Investigator, Type 6: The Loyalist, Type 7: The Enthusiast, Type 8: The Challenger, Type 9: The Peacemaker.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: A = First Statement, B = Second Statement.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 0 to 36. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Score (Unlikely dominant type): 0 – 10
- Moderate Score (Possible secondary type or wing): 11 – 20
- High Score (Likely dominant type): 21 – 36
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.70 – 0.82.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 25 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
