Scale Overview
The Right-Left Brain Dominance Test was developed by Jana Din (2015). It is designed to measure Hemispheric Dominance / Cognitive Style. The scale is intended for use with General population.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: A = Option A (Left-Brain aligned), B = Option B (Right-Brain aligned).
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 10. Interpretation guidelines:
- Right-Brain Dominant (Creative, intuitive, subjective, and holistic): 0 – 4
- Balanced Dominance (Equal preference for left and right brain characteristics): 5 – 5
- Left-Brain Dominant (Logical, analytical, objective, and sequential): 6 – 10
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
