Scale Overview
The Religious Commitment Inventory – RCI-10 was developed by Worthington, E. L. Jr., Wade, N. G., Hight, T. L., Ripley, J. S., McCullough, M. E., Berry, J. W., Schmitt, M. M., Berry, J. T., Bursley, K. A., & O’Connor, L. (2003). It is designed to measure Religious Commitment. The scale is intended for use with Adults and adolescents.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Intrapersonal Religious Commitment, Interpersonal Religious Commitment.

Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 10 to 50. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Religious Commitment: 10 – 22
- Moderate Religious Commitment: 23 – 37
- High Religious Commitment: 38 – 50
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha ranges from .88 to .98.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
