Scale Overview
The Relational Engagement of the Sacred for a Transgression – REST was developed by Davis, D. E., Hook, J. N., Worthington, E. L., Jr., Van Tongeren, D. R., Gartner, A. L., Jennings, D. J. II, & Norton, L. (2010). It is designed to measure Relational engagement of the sacred for a transgression. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 4 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Completely disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = Somewhat disagree, 4 = Somewhat agree, 5 = Agree, 6 = Completely agree.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 4 to 24. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Relational Engagement: 4 – 10
- Moderate Relational Engagement: 11 – 17
- High Relational Engagement: 18 – 24

Administration
