The Reasons for Consenting to Unwanted Sex Scale – RCUSS was developed by Terry P. Humphreys & Deborah J. Kennett (2008). It is designed to measure Reasons for consenting to unwanted sex. The scale is intended for use with Heterosexual undergraduate females.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = Not at all Characteristic of Me, 1 = 1, 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = Somewhat Characteristic of Me, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = 7, 8 = Very Characteristic of Me.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 144. Interpretation guidelines:

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.96.
