Scale Overview
The Quine Workplace Bullying Scale was developed by L. Quine (1999). It is designed to measure Workplace Bullying. The scale is intended for use with Employees, healthcare staff, and nurses.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Threat to professional status, Threat to personal standing, Isolation, Overwork, Destabilization.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point frequency scale (1 = Never to 5 = Always).
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 20 to 100. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low exposure to bullying behaviors: 20 – 40
- Moderate exposure to bullying behaviors: 41 – 70
- High exposure to bullying behaviors: 71 – 100
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha ranges from .26 (Overwork) to .94 (Isolation).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
