Scale Overview
The Perceptions of Computer-Mediated Communication Assessment – PCMCA was developed by Martha Perry (2010). It is designed to measure Attitude toward computer-mediated communication. The scale is intended for use with Adults in relationships.

This instrument consists of 13 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Partner-Specific CMC Attitude, General CMC Attitude.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 4-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 4 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 5 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 13 to 52. Interpretation guidelines:
- Negative Attitude toward CMC: 13 – 26
- Moderate/Neutral Attitude toward CMC: 27 – 39
- Positive Attitude toward CMC: 40 – 52

Administration
