The Perceived Person-Organization Fit Scale – P-O Fit was developed by Cable, D. M., & Judge, T. A. (1996). It is designed to measure Perceived Person-Organization Fit. The scale is intended for use with Employees / Working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 3 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at all, 2 = To a small degree, 3 = Moderately, 4 = To a large degree, 5 = Completely.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Fit: 1 – 2
- Moderate Fit: 2 – 3
- High Fit: 3 – 5
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.87.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
