Scale Overview
The Perceived Person-Organization Fit Scale was developed by Kathryn Lovelace, Benson Rosen (1996). It is designed to measure Perceived Person-Organization Fit. The scale is intended for use with Employees and managers.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 14 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Very poor fit, 2 = Poor fit, 3 = Somewhat poor fit, 4 = Neutral / Moderate fit, 5 = Somewhat good fit, 6 = Good fit, 7 = Very good fit.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 7. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Person-Organization Fit: 1 – 3
- Moderate Person-Organization Fit: 3 – 5
- High Person-Organization Fit: 5 – 7
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Alpha of .92.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
