Scale Overview
The Perceived Parental Support Scale-Lesbian/Gay (PPSS-LG) was developed by Sean Travis Clouse (2007). It is designed to measure Perceived Parental Support. The scale is intended for use with Lesbian and gay individuals.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 22 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 8 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 22 to 110. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Perceived Support: 22 – 54
- Moderate Perceived Support: 55 – 87
- High Perceived Support: 88 – 110

Administration
