Scale Overview
The Parental Support for Fighting Scale – PSFS was developed by Pamela Orpinas, N. Murray, S. Kelder (1999). It is designed to measure Parental support for fighting and non-violence. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents and youths.

This instrument consists of 10 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Aggressive Solutions, Non-Aggressive Solutions.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Yes, 0 = No.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 0 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Support for Strategy: 0 – 2
- High Support for Strategy: 3 – 5
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
