Scale Overview
The Parent Trust Scales – PTS was developed by Adams, C.M. & Forsyth, P.B. (2004). It is designed to measure Parent Trust. The scale is intended for use with Parents of school-aged children.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 25 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Parent Trust in School, Parent Trust in Principal.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly Agree, 2 = Agree, 3 = Somewhat Agree, 4 = Slightly Agree, 5 = Slightly Disagree, 6 = Somewhat Disagree, 7 = Disagree, 8 = Strongly Disagree.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of PTS-Scale alpha = 0.95, PTP-Scale alpha = 0.95.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 8 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
