Scale Overview
The Orpinas Victimization Scale was developed by Orpinas P., Kelder S. (1995). It is designed to measure Peer Victimization. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents and school-aged youth.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = 0 times, 1 = 1 time, 2 = 2 times, 3 = 3 times, 4 = 4 times, 5 = 5 times, 6 = 6 or more times.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 60. Interpretation guidelines:
- No victimization reported: 0 – 0
- Low level of victimization: 1 – 10
- Moderate level of victimization: 11 – 30
- High level of victimization: 31 – 60
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
