The Organizational Commitment Scales – OCS was developed by LaMastro (adapted from Meyer & Allen) (1999). It is designed to measure Organizational Commitment. The scale is intended for use with Employees / Working adults.

This instrument consists of 22 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Affective Organizational Commitment, Continuance Organizational Commitment, Normative Organizational Commitment.

Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree, 2 = Moderately disagree, 3 = Slightly disagree, 4 = Neither disagree nor agree, 5 = Slightly agree, 6 = Moderately agree, 7 = Strongly agree.
The scale includes 6 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 22 to 154. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Commitment: 22 – 66
- Moderate Commitment: 67 – 110
- High Commitment: 111 – 154
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 7 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
