Scale Overview
The Opportunities for Prosocial Involvement Scale is a standardized psychological assessment instrument. It is designed to measure Prosocial Family Involvement. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents (grades 6, 8, 10, and 12).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 3 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = NO!, 2 = no, 3 = yes, 4 = YES!.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 3 to 12. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Opportunities: 3 – 6
- Moderate Opportunities: 7 – 9
- High Opportunities: 10 – 12
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
