Scale Overview
The Negative Emotional and Motivational Expression after Transgressions – NEMET-7 was developed by Yin Lin (2012). It is designed to measure Suppression of negative emotional and motivational expression. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 7 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 7 to 35. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low suppression: 7 – 14
- Moderate suppression: 15 – 27
- High suppression: 28 – 35
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
