Scale Overview
The Muslim Religiosity-Personality Inventory (MRPI) was developed by Steven E. Krauss, Azimi Hamzah, Suandi Turiman, Sidek M. Noah, Rumaya Juhari, Jamiah H. Manap, Khairul A. Mastor, Hasnan Kassan, Azma Mahmood (2005). It is designed to measure Islamic Religiosity and Personality. The scale is intended for use with Muslim youth and adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 102 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Pro-Social Behaviors, Ritual Behaviors, Anti-Social Behaviors, Lie Scale.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 16 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 102 to 510. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Religiosity-Personality: 102 – 238
- Moderate Religiosity-Personality: 239 – 374
- High Religiosity-Personality: 375 – 510
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Pro-Social Behaviors: alpha = 0.91, Ritual Behaviors: alpha = 0.90, Anti-Social Behaviors: alpha = 0.75.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 25 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
