Scale Overview
The Münster Questionnaire for Evaluation – Basic Texts Module (MFE-ZBa) was developed by Meinald Thielsch, Ina Stegemöller (2010). It is designed to measure Course Evaluation (Basic Texts). The scale is intended for use with University students.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 5 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = Somewhat disagree, 4 = Neutral, 5 = Somewhat agree, 6 = Agree, 7 = Strongly agree.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 5 to 35. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low satisfaction / Poor quality: 5 – 15
- Moderate satisfaction / Average quality: 16 – 25
- High satisfaction / Good quality: 26 – 35
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha = .79.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
