The Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire – MEQ was developed by Horne J. A., Östberg O. (1976). It is designed to measure Circadian Typology. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 16 to 86. Interpretation guidelines:
- Definitely evening type: 16 – 30
- Moderately evening type: 31 – 41
- Neither type: 42 – 58
- Moderately morning type: 59 – 69
- Definitely morning type: 70 – 86
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.78 – 0.86.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
