The Modern Homonegativity Scale – MHS was developed by Melanie A. Morrison, Todd G. Morrison (2002). It is designed to measure Modern Homonegativity. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 24 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Modern Homonegativity toward Gay Men (MHS-G), Modern Homonegativity toward Lesbian Women (MHS-L).

- Low Homonegativity: 12 – 27
- Moderate Homonegativity: 28 – 44
- High Homonegativity: 45 – 60

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Alpha coefficients range from .81 to .95 for MHS-G and .84 to .91 for MHS-L.
