Scale Overview
The Luxembourg Workplace Mobbing Scale – LWMS was developed by Steffgen, Sischka, et al. (2019). It is designed to measure Workplace mobbing exposure. The scale is intended for use with General working population.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 5 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never, 2 = Rarely, 3 = Sometimes, 4 = Often, 5 = Almost always.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low exposure: 1 – 2
- Moderate exposure: 2 – 4
- High exposure: 4 – 5
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha = .73.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
