Scale Overview
The Life Values Inventory – LVI was developed by Duane Brown, R. Kelly Crace (1996). It is designed to measure Life Values. The scale is intended for use with Adults and adolescents.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 42 items organized into 14 factors/subscales: Achievement, Belonging, Concern for the Environment, Concern for Others, Creativity, Financial Prosperity, Health and Activity, Humility, Independence, Loyalty to Family or Group, Privacy, Responsibility, Scientific Understanding, Spirituality.

Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Almost Never Guides My Behavior, 2 = 2, 3 = Sometimes Guides My Behavior, 4 = 4, 5 = Almost Always Guides My Behavior.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 3 to 15. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Importance: 3 – 8
- Medium Importance: 9 – 11
- High Importance: 12 – 15
