Scale Overview
The Leadership Relationship Quality Scale – Employee Version (LRQ-E) was developed by Hans-Joachim Wolfram, Gisela Mohr (2004). It is designed to measure Leadership Relationship Quality. The scale is intended for use with Working adults / employees.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 16 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Respect, Trust, Encouragement, Affection.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Does not apply at all, 2 = Applies slightly, 3 = Applies moderately, 4 = Applies mostly, 5 = Applies completely.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 16 to 80. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low relationship quality: 16 – 37
- Moderate relationship quality: 38 – 59
- High relationship quality: 60 – 80
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's Alpha = .91.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
