Scale Overview
The Job Satisfaction Blank – JSB was developed by Solis L. Kates (adapted from Robert Hoppock) (1950). It is designed to measure Job Satisfaction. The scale is intended for use with Working adults.
Scale Structure

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Lowest satisfaction option (1), 2 = Option 2, 3 = Option 3, 4 = Option 4, 5 = Option 5, 6 = Option 6, 7 = Highest satisfaction option (7).
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 4 to 28. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Job Satisfaction: 4 – 11
- Moderate Job Satisfaction: 12 – 20
- High Job Satisfaction: 21 – 28
