Scale Overview
The Job Satisfaction Blank – JSB was developed by Solis L. Kates (1950). It is designed to measure Job Satisfaction. The scale is intended for use with Working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 4 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Option 1 (Lowest Satisfaction), 2 = Option 2, 3 = Option 3, 4 = Option 4, 5 = Option 5, 6 = Option 6, 7 = Option 7 (Highest Satisfaction).
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 4 to 28. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Job Satisfaction: 4 – 11
- Moderate Job Satisfaction: 12 – 20
- High Job Satisfaction: 21 – 28
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
