Scale Overview
The Job Related Tension Index – JRTI was developed by Kahn, R. L., Wolfe, D. M., Quinn, R. P., Snoek, J. D., & Rosenthal, R. A. (1964). It is designed to measure Job-related tension and occupational stress. The scale is intended for use with Working adults.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never bothered, 2 = Rarely bothered, 3 = Sometimes bothered, 4 = Often bothered, 5 = Bothered nearly all the time.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 15 to 75. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Tension: 15 – 34
- Moderate Tension: 35 – 54
- High Tension: 55 – 75
