Scale Overview
The Job-Related Self-Efficacy and Group-Efficacy Scales was developed by Riggs, M. L., & Knight, P. A. (1994). It is designed to measure Job-related self-efficacy and collective group-efficacy. The scale is intended for use with Working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 17 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Job-related Self-efficacy, Job-related Group-efficacy.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly Disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = Slightly Disagree, 4 = Neutral, 5 = Slightly Agree, 6 = Agree, 7 = Strongly Agree.
The scale includes 11 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 17 to 119. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Efficacy: 17 – 51
- Moderate Efficacy: 52 – 85
- High Efficacy: 86 – 119
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Self-efficacy alpha = 0.86, Group-efficacy alpha = 0.84.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
