Scale Overview
The Interaction With Antisocial Peers Scale – IAPS was developed by Social Development Research Group, University of Washington (2002). It is designed to measure Peer Delinquency. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 6 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = None of my friends, 1 = 1 of my friends, 2 = 2 of my friends, 3 = 3 of my friends, 4 = 4 of my friends.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 0 to 4. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low association with antisocial peers: 0 – 1
- Moderate association with antisocial peers: 1 – 2
- High association with antisocial peers: 2 – 4

Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
