The Indiscriminate Proreligiousness Scale – IPRO was developed by Kenneth I. Pargament, Michael T. Brannick, Helen Adamakos, David S. Ensing, Mark L. Kelemen, Richard K. Warren, Karen Falgout, Patricia Cook, & Janet Myers (1987). It is designed to measure Indiscriminate Proreligiousness. The scale is intended for use with Religious individuals / Church members.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 28 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Congregational Proreligiousness (PRO-C), Personal Proreligiousness (PRO-P).

Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous True/False format.
The scale includes 13 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.

Total scores range from 0 to 28. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Indiscriminate Proreligiousness: 0 – 14
- High Indiscriminate Proreligiousness: 15 – 28
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of PRO-C alpha: .78 – .82, PRO-P alpha: .59 – .75.
