Scale Overview
The Imagery Ability Check – IAC was developed by Joel M. Cressman, Kimberley A. Dawson (2010). It is designed to measure Healing Imagery Ability. The scale is intended for use with Injured athletes undergoing rehabilitation.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 9 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at all, 2 = , 3 = , 4 = , 5 = , 6 = , 7 = Extremely well.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 9 to 63. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Imagery Ability: 9 – 27
- Moderate Imagery Ability: 28 – 45
- High Imagery Ability: 46 – 63
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
