Scale Overview
The Hope Replenishing System (HRS) was developed by Parents Let’s Unite for Kids (PLUK) (Unknown). It is designed to measure Self-care and stress management. The scale is intended for use with Adults and caregivers.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 15 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous Yes/No format.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 15. Interpretation guidelines:
- Bad apple, squashed out applesauce, bananas (Critically low self-care): 0 – 8
- Prickly pear, or a lemon (Low self-care): 9 – 10
- Mixed fruit, a fruit salad, or a fruit medley (Moderate self-care): 11 – 12
- Peachy (Good self-care): 13 – 13
- Cool as a cucumber (Excellent self-care): 14 – 15
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
